The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place at the Shinola Hotel’s event space.

Please arrive promptly at 4:30 to grab a glass of prosecco and find your seat. We need all guests to be seated before 5pm.

Ladies: Floor length gowns are appropriate. Don’t shy away from bright colors and chic silhouettes.

Gentleman: Tuxedos are encouraged. If skipping a tux, a dark, well-tailored suit and tie is best— please leave your khakis and navy blazers at home this go around ;)

August in Michigan brings warm, sunny days and comfortably mild evenings. Expect highs in the low to mid 80s.

With that said, all wedding events will be held indoors with access to outdoor spaces.

While we expect warm weather the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be air conditioned.

The most convenient airport to fly into is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). DTW is located 20 miles southwest of downtown Detroit in Romulus, MI. It serves as a major hub for Delta Air Lines and offers extensive domestic and international connections.

All wedding events and hotels are located downtown within walking distance. While you are welcome to rent a car, we recommend hiring a taxi or ride share to travel from the airport to your hotel downtown.

Due to limited space, we will not be giving out plus-ones to anyone who doesn’t have a guest listed on their invite.

While we love your little ones, this is an adults only event. Book a sitter, grab a drink, and let’s party.

A small block of rooms have been set aside for immediate family and members of the wedding, however guests can book through the hotel’s website at the standard rate.

If you are looking to treat yourself, the Shinola will make for an unforgettable stay.

If you are renting a car or driving in from out of town we recommend following your hotel’s guidance for parking.

If not parking with your hotel we recommend parking at The Z Garage at 1234 Library St, Detroit, MI 48226, with entrances on Gratiot Ave and Grand River Ave.

This secure and centrally located garage is open 24/7 with a daily maximum of $25 on weekdays and a $10 flat rate on evenings and weekends.

We ask that all guests refrain from taking photos once the ceremony begins. This will help ensure our photographers capture the best possible shots.

Guests are more than welcome to take photos once cocktail hour begins.
